This page was created to walk you through how to get started with Hammer and beyond.
Below is a general overview of what to expect. We will work with your school's team lead through each of these steps.
STEP 1: introduction zoom | 30 MINUTES
The first step is getting to know you better! Let's schedule a brief 30-minute Zoom or phone call to learn more about your students, and how we can best support you! After we speak, we can then schedule a 1-hour Kick-Start Professional Development with your team!
STEP 2: online access & Big Inch Teacher kit
Send us the names and emails of the teachers who will participate and how many students each teacher has. We will send you a custom code for your school to access the curriculum. We will create extra codes for your school in case more teachers choose to participate. We will ship each teacher a Big Inch Teacher's Kit which includes 1 High-Density Polymer Big Inch and a class set of 50 card stock Big Inches. We want to make sure each student has approximately 2 card stock Big Inches. If you have more than 25 students, please let us know, so we can provide you with additional stock. If you have questions, please email dawn@ifihadahammer.com.
STEP 3: 1-HOUR KICKSTART PD VIA ZOOM
This 1-hour PD will take you through fractions and the reading a ruler portion of our curriculum. Most of our schools schedule the Kickstart PD after school starts to allow for new hires, but we are flexible and can accommodate the time of year that works best you.
STEP 4: FILL OUT PARTNER AGREEMENT
Niswonger provided its deep-dive partners with a Partner Agreement Form. The purpose of this agreement is to make sure you are clearly provided information about the products, services, and support you can expect to receive from us throughout the year. This form also provides us with more information on your teachers. This partner agreement can be found on the google drive link provided to your school's contact person. Please add your teachers' info to the agreement (located in your google drive) at your earliest convenience.
STEP 5: On-going support, Hammerbuild, architectural design, & More
